A Brief Introduction

TV News India (TNI) is one amongst the first four visual TV News and Current affairs agencies that were notified by the Government of India, Doordarshan Kendra, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, New Delhi on October 10, 1985. In order to make news programs more visually Doordarshan entered into contract with the four TV News Agencies for the supply of news clips and news features. TV News India (TNI) was mainly to concentrate its activities in those areas where the coverage of Doordarshan’s own team was not comprehensive. Coverage of important development and human interest stories was also assigned to our agency. It is noticeable that for a very long time TV News India (TNI) is working on more national and international profile assignments

TV News India (TNI) in its last two and half decades work history has covered many important events including Samastipur Train Accident in 1981, Meerut Riots in 1987, Tehri Dam & Rehabilitation in 1989, Haridwar Tragedy in 1995, Uphar Cinema Fire Tragedy in 1997, Haridwar Maha-Kumbh 1998, Malpa Tragedy during Mansarover Yatra in 1998, Former Prime Minister of India Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s Profile in 1998, Kargil War in 1999, Former President of Pakistan’s Visit to India in 2001 & Nandadevi Raj Jat Yatra in 2002 are few of our prominent and standard raising coverages

After rebranding for needed visual approach we have extended our infrastructure to a large area of coverage in multiple regions of nation. TV News India (TNI) is based in National Capital Delhi, have a well connected network of more than 900 indicviduals representing TNI in more than 400 districts from 14 states i.e. Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chattisgarh, Jharkhand, Jammu & Kashmir, West Bengal etc.
